Xiaomi to enter France and Italy as a ‘New Player’ later this May

While Huawei is struggling in the US, here is Xiaomi trying to enter another new region but sans any major problem. The Chinese OEM has been working hard to enter new markets as part of its globalization efforts. Not much information has been shared but the brand is launching in France and Italy on May 22 and May 24, respectively. Xiaomi France and Xiaomi Italia will open just before this month ends. Those in Europe who’ve been waiting for Xiaomi’s mid-range and budget-friendly mobile devices will finally get the chance to see what’s the fuss is all about.

The news was shared by Wang Xiang, Xiaomi’s Senior Vice President. The teaser shows ‘New Player, New Attitude’ which to us, means Xiaomi is entering as a new player in the business in this specific. Xiaomi, aka Mi, will show a new attitude or a different spunk than the more common names in the mobile industry.

Xiaomi may only be the No. 2 mobile OEM in China having been overtaken by Huawei three years ago but it’s always been prolific when it comes to releasing updates and revealing new products. It’s slowly entering the smart home scene with new products and appliances apart from the numerous smartphones available. We can’t say yet if Xiaomi will bring those other products to France and Italy so let’s wait and see.
