What texting app are you using in late 2018?

Checking in with the Android Central forums.

WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and other similar apps are great tools for communicating with friends/family as an alternative to traditional texting. However, whether it be because you don’t want to force all the people you know to download a new app or something else, good-old SMS is still hard to beat.

The Play Store has long been filled with a large assortment of various texting apps that try to deliver a better experience than what your phone offers out of the box, and with so many to choose from, we like to occasionally check in with our forum members to see what they’re using.

In late 2018, here’s what they have to say.

I love Textra, but since they just won’t implement texting from a computer (they’ve categorically, and a couple times quite rudely, stated that they’re not interested in ever implementing that and you can use crappy relay services like Pushbullet or MightyText). I use the Note 9 stock messaging app on my Galaxy S8. I get the blue messaging app icon no more ugly yellow chat bubbles and it actually has a lot of really cool features/fixes I used textra for the longest time but from the phone app if I click message instead of call it brings up the Textra Square Reply Window which I asked them to make an update to have an option of turning that…
