- Nubia has teased its upcoming gaming phone, the Red Magic 2, on Weibo.

- It’s set to launch on October 31.
We’ve entered the age of the gaming smartphone and new devices are dropping steadily. The Razer Phone 2 and Xiaomi Black Shark Helo have arrived this month already, and now its ZTE sub-brand Nubia’s turn with a sequel to its Red Magic from earlier this year.
Nubia has teased the smartphone, which is set to arrive on October 31, in a promo on Weibo and offered some key details about it. The handset will feature a Snapdragon 845 chipset, as had been rumored, and will follow in the footsteps of the Black Shark Helo with 10GB of RAM. Whether it will be available in variants with less RAM, we don’t yet know.
Nubia offered up a sneak peek at the handset (below) which appears to corroborate previously leaked images like the one above.
The text on the teaser also suggests the phone will feature a liquid cooling system, 3D surround sound, and 4D gaming. We don’t know exactly what the latter point refers to but we presume it’s the haptic feedback found on an increasing number of Google Play titles. This is also supported on the Honor Play where it’s called AI 4D Smart Shock.
The Red Magic 2 is following some tough acts this October and will be up against the Honor Magic 2 when it launches on October 31. The good news for Nubia is this is shaping up to be a unique smartphone, and it may not break the bank. Previous rumors pegged it at the equivalent of around $510; it’s not an outrageous sum of money for new flagships these days.
