Mark your calendar. The glass-backed, notch-equipped OnePlus 6 will be officially unveiled on May 16, 2018 in London, UK.
The OnePlus 6 is the eighth smartphone from the eponymous Chinese company. A fan favorite, OnePlus has made a name for itself with well-priced devices, though its asking prices have steadily increased over the years. The OnePlus 6 will probably continue that trend, as the OEM remodels itself into a purveyor of genuine high-end devices.
Fans are invited to attend the London unveiling of the OnePlus 6, though like last year, they will have to pay for the privilege. One thousand tickets are now on sale on OnePlus’ website at an early-bird price of 16 pounds/ 18 euros each. Early-bird tickets will be available until 8pm BST on April 27, and after this time, any remaining seats will be sold for 30 pounds/34 euros. If you buy at least two tickets, you will get them for 20 pounds/23 euros each.
OnePlus said it’s only selling tickets because the number of seats is limited and that the price of the ticket is smaller than the value of the swag bags it will hand out to each attendee.
“In addition [to] being the first in the world to use a OnePlus 6, attendees will receive a swag bag filled to the brim with exclusive The Speed You Need event items, as well as enjoying a OnePlus party, and will receive a mystery gift when they buy a OnePlus 6,” the company said.
No word if the swag bag includes any Avengers-themed goodies. Don’t hold your breath though — the OnePlus 6 Avengers edition will probably be exclusive to India.
As for the actual OnePlus 6 release date, we don’t have yet any official info, but it’s likely the phone will go on sale soon after May 16.

So what should you expect from the OnePlus 6? The company has revealed a lot of details already: we know it will (controversially) have a notch on its screen; that it will come with a glass back; and that it will be water resistant. The phone will be a powerhouse, including the best processor on the market – Snapdragon 845 – and 8GB of RAM. Staples like Dash Charge and the hardware mute switch are expected to return.
