LG’s 2018 AI TVs are all compatible with Amazon Alexa

Full control over your TV is just a voice command away.

TVs are a big part of CES just about every year, and LG is no exception to this rule. The company announced a heap of new television sets at the trade show for its 2018 lineup, and following this, it’s been announced that all of LG’s new "AI TVs" for 2018 will come with Amazon Alexa compatibility.

Whether you’re the owner of an Amazon Echo, Echo Show, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, or Echo Plus, you’ll be able to use a variety of Alexa voice commands to control multiple functions of your LG AI TV without having to fumble with the included LG Magic Remote.

Some commands include the likes of "Alexa, change the channel to CNN on my kitchen TV" and "Alexa, turn up the volume of my living room TV", and you can do things like open apps by saying "Alexa, ask LG to launch YouTube on my bedroom TV."

LG is showing off this Alexa integration first at CES 2018, and it’ll then be launched on the company’s 2018 AI TV lineup starting first in the United States. Other countries are expected to follow, but the specifics on this have yet to be announced.
