The new name and look are rolling out now.
Back in December of last year, Google released a handy little app called Files Go to help users in developing markets free up storage space on their phones and share files without the need for a data connection. Now, the app’s getting a fresh coat of paint with a new name and UI.
According to Google, Files Go is now used by more than 30 million people all around the globe and in countries where low phone storage and weak data speeds aren’t an issue. As such, the "Go" branding is being dropped in favor of a more streamlined name.
You’ll also find an updated UI that retains all of the core functionality while giving the app an overall cleaner aesthetic that more closely aligns what you’ll find in other Google apps.
The update is rolling out to the Play Store now.
