As we stated in our review, the Xiaomi Mi A1 might be the perfect budget phone. But, sadly it isn’t officially sold in the United States. If you want to get your hands on one, you have to import it, and that can get costly. Thankfully, the Mi A1 is now on sale on eBay for just $225.

Graduating class: Nexus – Pixel – Android One – Android Go

When Google abandoned the Nexus program a lot of its die-hard fans wanted to know why. Even when the Pixel series first emerged, many of us were still scratching our heads. Now, with the 20/20 …

The Mi A1 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage, and a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display. Just above the display is a 5 MP front-facing camera, while the rear houses a dual 12 MP lens setup. The Mi A1 has a metal body design and features a USB Type-C port, fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, and IR blaster.

In our review, we found that the Mi A1 had pretty good battery life. That’s partially due to the low-power processor and 3,080 mAh battery, but also because it doesn’t connect to LTE here in the United States. It can connect to 4G, but the lack of LTE is a bit of a bummer, even if it does lead to better battery life.

One of the biggest advantages of the Mi A1 is that it’s part of the Android One program. The device comes with pure Android 8.0 Oreo, and Google promises at least 18 months of software updates. That should take the device through Android P with plenty of security updates along the way.
